Fabric, fabric...

I have been inspired by different kinds of fabric those past weeks... I have mixed some nature prints with some patriotic prints for this triangle quilt (a present for my mom). I wanted some warm earthy colors with few bright red, green and blue, and I love the country style result. As I have enough fabric left, I put it on my Etsy shop and I also think about sewing a bigger for my bed!

I felt in love with the Aviary 2 collection by Joel Dewberry and made this quilt using a very simple but elegant piecing. I also bought the beautiful Eleni palette LouLouThi by Anna Maria Horner and I might use the same pattern, but I am still hesitating. A star quilt could also be great with those bright colors... will see. Sometimes it is difficult to cut those beautiful fabric...

Finally, I bought some charms packs as "Meadow friends" and "Oops a daisy" thinking about some baby quilts, probably my October projects.

Folk Flowers Quilt

It is completed!
For the back, I have used a flower print that reminds me my grand-parents folding long chairs (during the 70's). It's a warm and joyful print. A lot of its colors can be found in the top.

As most of the time I have used a simple stitch in the ditch that outlines the flowers and leaves.
This quilt as well as the pattern are available for sale on my Etsy shop.
I love holding a new quilt in my hands. And as always, my mind is already set on another project... a smal "meditation wall hanging quilt".

Rain

As we just moved in a new house few days ago, there is a lot of work to do in the garden. Those past days, I have spend a lot of time preparing the ground to seed a lawn. And finally, rain comes so... I can come back to my quilt without feeling guilty!
Now the blocks are finished. I think I will add a white frame to make the design lighter.

I add a picture of my featherweight, that give me so much pleasure to sew. When I bought it last year, I thought it might be uncomfortable because it is so small compared to other sewing machine. Wrong! It is just a delight to sew with this beauty. It runs so smooth and I love all its sounds (buttons, motor, etc). Those who have one know what I am talking about!
So I thought I had to put it in this blog, like a tribute to its beauty...and just to say "Thank you dear sewing machine!"

Summer project

Here is my next quilt project. I have been inspired from the colorful crochet granny squares. It is an opportunity to try a 100% solid fabric quilt, something I wanted to try for a while, without having the design to do it. The final quilt will measure 40" x 40" and will make a nice wall hanging or throw quilt.
On the bottom right corner, you can see a simple version of the leaves, but I will sew the nicer version as drawn in the other corners of the draft. This quilt and its pattern will be for sale in my Etsy shop. I like adding white fabric in my quilts. That enhances the brightness of the other colors and adds freshness in the design.
And here is the fabric selection I have made for this quilt. As you can see, I love bright colors, and particularly these joyful candy tones.
I hope I will be able to post very soon some pictures of the blocks and the top assembled!
